Founder & President

I built Legacy Tax & Wealth Management after repeatedly seeing how often important financial decisions were made without a clear understanding of their long-term tax and planning implications. Whether it was the timing of Social Security benefits without fully considering how broader income, portfolio, and IRA decisions could affect future taxes and Medicare premiums, or a retiree withdrawing from the wrong accounts and creating unnecessary tax exposure, the issue was rarely effort—it was a lack of coordinated information. I saw a consistent need for financial planning and portfolio management to work together, especially as individuals approach retirement, and believed there was a better way to help people plan with clarity and confidence.

My background began in corporate accounting, where I worked in financial reporting and tax preparation before transitioning into a family-owned practice. Along the way, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Accounting, completed my MBA, became an Enrolled Agent, and obtained my Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses. I have been a registered representative with Calton & Associates since 2017 and currently serve as a registered investment advisor with IAMS Wealth Management. While credentials matter, what mattered more to me was learning how to apply them in ways that support thoughtful planning, disciplined portfolio and IRA management, and informed long-term decision-making.

Legacy Tax & Wealth Management was intentionally structured to integrate financial planning, investment and portfolio management, IRA management, and proactive tax strategy into one coordinated approach. Today, I work with individuals, families, and pre-retirees to provide ongoing planning, manage existing brokerage accounts and IRAs, and help align investment decisions with tax considerations, retirement goals, and future income needs—so clients understand how today’s choices shape their broader financial picture.

I grew up in Newport, Tennessee, where I learned the value of consistency, responsibility, and looking out for the people around you. My wife Ashley, our son Jace, and I now live in Knoxville, a community that reflects the balance of growth and stability I value both personally and professionally. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, playing golf, and continuing my education through professional tax and financial organizations to stay current in a constantly evolving industry.

What motivates me most is helping clients move from uncertainty to clarity. When someone understands their financial picture, feels confident in how their portfolio and retirement accounts are managed, and knows their plan is aligned for the long term, that’s when planning truly matters—and that’s the work I value most.
